Had a fun lunch the other day at The Front Porch in Dogpatch with a friend of mine who's on the board of SFMade, a recently established non-profit corporation focused on revitalizing San Francisco’s economic base by developing the local manufacturing sector.
The San Francisco economy has become so skewed towards the tourist business and so an organization with the vision of "a more diverse and sustainable local economy, where companies who design and manufacture products locally thrive, in turn, creating quality jobs for people from all walks of life and contributing to the overall economic and social vibrancy of our City" sure got my attention.
There is so much local talent here - design talent - artisans who make clothes and hats (like House of Nines Design) and bags (like Rickshaw) and you name it... and speaking of brand new bags I leave you with this!
